About

The KU Fast Track Program allows students to start a degree program early while perfecting academic English. Applied English Center (AEC) classes are less expensive than most KU classes and count toward language requirements and electives in many programs. Start your college experience with momentum as you become part of a community focused on your success.

KU Fast Track Levels

Start the KU Fast Track Program in fall or spring. Your AEC test scores will determine your placement into your academic program of choice or the Fast Track program level suitable to your proficiency in English.

Not ready for Fast Track 4 or 5? All students are encouraged to apply to KU, no matter their level of English proficiency. If your English is not ready for KU Fast Track 4 of 5, you can begin your University of Kansas experience with full-time English classes at AEC levels 1-3.

KU Fast Track Levels

Complete your proficiency requirements in two semesters and continue as a full-time KU student with up to 20 earned credit hours.

This timeframe is an estimate and depends on your major of choice. Contact the AEC for more information.

Complete your proficiency requirements in one semester and continue as a full-time KU student with up to 16 earned credit hours.

This timeframe is an estimate and depends on your major of choice. Contact the AEC for more information.
